In a country where the word “peace” is rarely used to describe daily life, the Alafia Foundation was born out of a quiet but powerful conviction: that peace is not a privilege, but a right, and it begins with opportunity. Founded in 2018 by Mrs. Sumbo Odunsi and her daughter Ms. Anjola Odunsi, Alafia, named after the Yoruba word for “peace”, emerged as a response to the silent struggles of women and girls living in under-resourced communities across Nigeria.
